Padre Zamora Elementary School marked August 2019 for the celebration of annual National Language Month (Buwan ng Wikang Pambansa) with the theme “Wikang Katutubo: Tungo sa Isang Bansang Filipino, ” spearheaded by Ms. Eden E. Dioquino, school principal with Joanna J. Soligam and Gladys P. Santiago, school Filipino coordinators.

        The celebration was officially opened on the 9th day of August with a program hosted by Charlotte Sweet R. Gelacio and Ayesha Ehris Bernadette A. Salazar, grade six pupils. It was started with a doxology by Himig Zamora Choir and conducted by Mr. Ivan R. Grulla, MT-1. The faculties, learners and parents participated through intermission numbers such as songs (nationalistic, OPM, and ethnic songs) and dance (ethnic and interpretative). Everybody enjoyed the presentations from SPEd, Kindergarten and Grades 1-6 students.

        The school featured month-long activities like Spelling Contest, Story Telling, Reciting Poem, Sulkas Tula (writing and reciting poem), and Essay Writing Contest.

Numerous learners in different grade levels actively participated in these activities. The winners were awarded certificates during the closing on August 30. 

        Smart awardees in Spelling Contest Grade One-Adelfa: 1st place -Sharbie Rayos, 2nd place -Martin Cedric Eneria, and 3rd place -Bienvinido Biala; Grade One: 1st place –Yumi Labutap (I-Daisy), 2nd place -Shane Angel Dee Cruz (I-Jasmine), and 3rd place -Rainmark Vito Cruz (I-Santan); Grade Two-St. Andrew: 1st place -Jayden Curt M. Tulod, 2nd place -Prince Harry P. De Pedro, and 3rd place -Abby Gaile T. Nitural and Francesca Maria V. Vidal; Grade Two: 1st place -Marishane Atasha Quinto (II-St. John), 2nd place -Jairus Jacob F. Bautista (II-St. John), and 3rd place -Daphne Abigail A. Rianzares (II-St. Jude); and Grade Six-Diamond: 1st place -Anilah Camille A. Rupinta, 2nd place -John Wayne C. Alano, and 3rd place -Serena Reese B. Espeleta.

         Story Telling Contest winners Grade Three: Yesha Lorraine C. Glinoga (Bakawan), 1st place; Jherlyn Mae S. Rima (Acacia), 2nd place; and Jessa Jean C. Arances (Molave), 3rd place. Grade Four- Aguinaldo: Johnella Anne P. Garcia 1st place; Princess Miejana E. Calma, 2nd place; and Alexandra P. Del Villar, 3rd place.

        Sharp-witted winners in Reciting Poem Grade Four: 1st place –Musica C. Japson (Aquino), 2nd place- Keith Martin E. Magtibay (Lapu-Lapu), and 3rd place _ Rizzilyn T. Pascual (Bonifacio).

        Creative winners in Sulkas Tula Grade Five-Aquarius: 1st place -Miguel Paolo D. Unico, 2nd place – Christine Reeze Fernandez, and 3rd place -Jesmy Zchyla Llauderes; Grade Five: 1st place- Christian Judiel Nuarin (Leo), 2nd place _Lyndth Bridget M. Gaffud (Pisces), and 3rd -Ava Janine P. Aguilar (Gemini).

         And the Essay Writing contest Grade Six-Diamond winners: Giann Sam Soriano, 1st place; Marie Claire P. Domenden, 2nd place; and John Wayne C. Alano, 3rd place. 

        Buwan ng Wika is the time to remind Zamoranians of the importance of Filipino language. To make them understand why the Filipino language is the light and strength of the nation. Filipino is what makes us Filipinos a true Pinoy.
